Chickens coops are sort of encasement or enclosures which are used for keeping the chickens. The interior is provided with enough space for laying eggs for the chicken and roosts for shelter and sleep on. It is also important to have good ventilation for healthy co existence of the chicken. The interior of the coop houses mostly the wooden chips and straws. This makes easier to clean the waste. There are many chickens coops available in the market in varying sizes. However, if one still wants to have a unique one, one can easily prepare owing to a bit of sense of carpentry.    

Before one looks forward to construct a coop, one should properly arrive at a good and appropriate design. The colors along with building material are crucial in giving the coop the appearance one wants. The material to be used while constructing should be in accordance to the ease while one is cleaning the coop at a later period. The doors of the enclosure should open inwards. In addition it would be better to equip the coop with sliding doors so that the chicken would not be able to come out if the doors have been remained open accidentally otherwise. The floor of the cage should also constructed avoiding many puddles. Therefore, for making a suitable residing place for the chicken, one should plan appropriately.

The next concern while constructing the chickens coops is that of safety. The coop should be built to keep the chickens protected from rain, snowfall, wind, freezing cold, etc. Apart from these natural elements, the chicken should be out of the reach for animals such as cats, dogs or other hungry predators. In addition, one should also make appropriate measures while building coop to save the chicken from being stolen or killed. The coop should also have a good drainage system to keep it dry and within appropriate proximity to the area for receiving adequate sunlight for keeping the chickens warm.

The feeders used for feeding the chickens with food and water should be placed at the right places so that there may be no difficulty for the chickens to have access to the same. Also, it would be wise to keep the containers at a certain height so that the chickens would only reach there by raising their neck. This will ensure that the chicken would be unable to make a mess of things they eat around that point of time.
